Courtney and Mitchell held their wedding on December 20th, 2022 in Shelbyville Michigan. Getting ready in the Bay Point Inn cottage, Courtney was already ecstatic about her wedding day!
Mitchell waited at the lakeside for the first look. Courtney descended the steps, giddy at the sight of her soon-to-be husband in the distance. They happily embraced under the arbor.
Also at this scenic location, we had a wonderful portrait session with the happy couple and then with their bridal party. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen walked alongside them; then they formed a tunnel for Mitchell and Courtney to run through; and finally, they ran up to the couple, giving them a big hug!
The ceremony space was decorated with winter and Christmas themes. Windows around the room let in a lot of natural light. Courtney walked down the aisle, escorted by her father. She and Mitchell exchanged their vows and rings after listening to a Christian sermon by the officiant. Courtney and Mitchell were pronounced man and wife, sharing a kiss: their first as a married couple.
After the ceremony, Courtney "modified" her dress to allow for more mobility before the reception. We went outside where the tree lights had been turned on and she showed off the shortened dress. Mitchell popped open a bottle of champagne to the cheers of the bridal party.
Everyone made their entrance to the reception, where the bride and groom were treated to speeches from each of their fathers, the maid of Honor, and the Best Man. With cupcakes for dessert, Courtney managed to smush one in Mitchell's face for some harmless fun. Mitchell and Courtney had their first dance center stage, backlit by warm Christmas tree lights.
